Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices.
• Ability to assist with instructional activities.
• Ability to instruct students at the direction of the teacher.
• Proficiency with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Work well with students, staff and public.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually, in small groups, or whole class as directed by teachers.
• Provide tutorial help and reinforce material using various methods.
• Give timely feedback on student performance to students and supervising teachers.
• Assist with regular classroom activities and instructional programs.
• Support with library or media center tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with clerical duties.
