Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Certified by the State of Alabama in the appropriate area.
• Must meet highly qualified status as determined by Alabama State Department of Education
• Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Uphold school rules, regulations, and Board of Education policies.
• Participate in school operation and meetings with staff.
• Avoid employment conflicts that interfere with duties.
• Maintain professional conduct per Code of Ethics.
• Follow approved curriculum and approved materials.
• Foster positive student attitudes and citizenship.
• Be punctual and available before/after school as required.
• Instruct assigned classes at designated times.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Establish and maintain classroom discipline.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of prep upon request.
• Maintain accurate records in line with policy.
• Evaluate student progress per established procedures.
• Seek specialist assistance and referrals when needed.
• Protect students and school property.
• Be available to students/parents for education-related discussions.
