Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education seeks an ITINERANT AIDE/EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSROOM ASSISTANT TEACHER for grades 1–3 at Frankfort Elementary School. Duties include assisting teachers, working with children in small groups or one-to-one, and helping supervise students on the bus when assigned to transportation duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, WV ECCAT certificates, and a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check per WV law.
• ECCAT I/II/III certificates required.
• Ability to facilitate instruction and supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with planning, preparation, and distribution of materials.
• Conduct learning activities and small-group or one-to-one instruction.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom and school-bus environment.
• Supervise students on buses and during transportation duties as needed.
• Support students’ academic and behavioral development.
