Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Interest in working with children.
• Ability to follow teacher instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities and routines as directed by the teacher.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Support student(s) with individual needs as identified by the teaching team.
• Correct papers or workbooks and keep records as assigned by the teacher.
• Prepare bulletin boards and displays as requested.
• Serve as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
• Participate in in-service training programs as assigned.
• Supervise lunch or play periods as scheduled.
• Carry out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education
