Position: Elementary TeacherJob Status: Full-Time/190 daysClassification: CertifiedClass: ExemptJob Description:Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district positively at all times.Demonstrate relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.Establish and maintain an orderly classroom environment in which students actively participate.Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program.Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of students' learning styles and needs.Teaches district-approved curriculum based on state frameworks and standards.Conduct an assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.Plan and supervise assignments of instructional assistant(s) and volunteer(s).Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through interim and formative assessments.Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. This job position may experience periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
