Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools seeks a part-time cheer coach to lead the 7-8 PM team, providing guidance at practices and competitions while ensuring a positive, safe environment for all participants.

You will work with assistants to plan activities, uphold district guidelines, and mentor students, parents, and staff, fostering high standards of conduct and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Cheer coaching experience required.
• Strong communication with students, families, staff.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to teach fundamental cheer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance for all cheer participants.
• Attend and coach practices, weekend competitions, and community events.
• Collaborate with assistant coaches to organize, set up, and ensure a safe practice or competition.
• Help all participants to develop to their full potential.
• Implement age appropriate program philosophies, goals, policy and procedures.
• Ensure that all participants follow Minnetonka School District guidelines and code of conduct.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
• Promote sportsmanship and respect for judges, teams, parents, fans, athletes, administrators and fellow competitors.

Season Dates

2 evening practices a week (6 -7 PM & 7 - 8 PM) on Mondays from September 14, 2026 to January 11, 2027 excl. September 21st and December 28th with 2-3 competition dates throughout the season for the 7 - 8 PM team.

Wages

Stipend will start at $1,000 for the season.

Job Qualifications

• Complete concussion training as required by law.
• Prior experience in cheer is required.
• Evidence of successful coaching experience; ability to teach fundamental skills.
• Positive, enthusiastic, respectful attitude
• Strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with students, parents, and staff.
• Commitment to program's high standards
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
• AACCA completion is preferred
