Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.

• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements with evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Be a positive role model and sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model for students; support the mission of the school district.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with policies and handbooks.
• Take precautions to protect students and classroom resources.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Compile, maintain, and file reports and other documents.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents and staff.
• Participate in staff development activities and adhere to regulations.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
