Pitt County Schools seeks a Site Bus Driver for Ridgewood Elementary School to operate a bus route in the morning and afternoon, ensuring safety and order for students and staff.

The 6-hour position requires CDL eligibility, daily pre/post-trip inspections, and ability to assist with bus maintenance and paperwork while following PCS policies. Ten-month term with transportation duties across Ridgewood routes.

Qualifications

• Eligible for a school bus driver's license (CDL).
• Drive an elementary route and a secondary route.
• Maintain buses at site and assist with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus safely and professionally.
• Maintains order and discipline of students on the bus as per PCS policies.
• Completes daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complies with laws, rules, and PCS policies.
• Maintains logs and records and participates in trainings.
• Meet and maintain legal and physical requirements for NC School Bus Certification.
• Operate and maneuver a school bus proficiently and establish effective relationships.
• Must obtain CDL and P&S endorsements and pass medical exams.
• Drive at least two routes for morning and afternoon.
• Prepare site buses in morning, wash and take to garage for maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
