Job summary

South Washington County Schools seeks an Elementary Building Foreman at Royal Oaks Elementary School to oversee custodial and maintenance operations, including boilers, HVAC, and related mechanical systems. The position runs Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm, with a Labor Grade III and a wage of $28.75 per hour; licensure requirements include 1C/2C boiler licenses as specified.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensing: 1C Engineer priority; 2C within 12 months of testing for 1C Boiler license.
• Three years custodial experience.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Able to operate common hand and power tools; safe practices.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, EMS, work orders).
• Must lift up to 75 pounds; reliable attendance.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and lead when needed.
• Commitment to diversity and positive community interactions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, HVAC and related mechanical equipment.
• Monitor water chemistry in boilers and towers.
• Run the Building Energy Management System.
• Direct and coordinate B&G staff; complete inspections.
• Shovel snow; manage snow removal operations.
• Prepare repair orders for Building and Grounds.
• Respond to occupants' needs and coordinate with vendors.
• Manage custodial operations under supervision.
• Inspect equipment for maintenance needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
