Job summary

ESS Education Staffing seeks an Elementary Building Assistant for Hatboro-Horsham School District in Horsham, PA. The role supports the school community by supervising students during lunch, recess, and non-classroom times, and by assisting teachers with small-group activities and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities include supervising in cafeterias and playgrounds, helping with transitions, supporting dismissal, and promoting safe, inclusive behavior.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Act 24 clearance (Form 6004) required.
• Act 34 state police clearance required.
• Act 114 federal background clearance required.
• Act 151 child abuse clearance required.
• Act 168 sexual misconduct disclosure release required.
• Tuberculosis test/physical required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch.
• Supervise students on the playground during recess.
• Transition students from lunch to recess and back.
• Monitor students in classrooms during indoor recess.
• Teach and encourage safe, inclusive play.
• Praise positive behavior and model expectations.
• Assist with small-group activities and clerical tasks.
• Provide support to teachers and administrators as needed.
• Attend training courses offered by the district.
• Assist with office clerical tasks and material duplication.
• Support with dismissal in assigned areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
