Job summary

Washington County Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional Behavior Support at Eastern Elementary School. This grant-funded role supports students with emotional disturbance and behavior needs in a 10-month school year, 7 hours per day, with a starting hourly rate of $19.26.

The position offers growth within the ESP Salary Scale (to $34.84/hr) and a 10% program differential. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and Paraprofessional Praxis, with CPI certification preferred.

Qualifications

• To assist the teacher by working with individual students or small groups.
• To provide behavior and emotional support to students in the learning support classroom.
• Assist with maintaining a positive learning environment and safety.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills.
• Assist students in generalizing learned social skills in the classroom.
• Participate as part of a crisis response team including verbal de-escalation.
• Maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention certification.
• Assist with classroom organization and behavior management.
• Follow through to carry out individual programs designed by the teacher.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders.
