Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools’ Dunbar Intermediate seeks a Special Education Autism Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is full-time, 200-day term, exempt, with salary commensurate with experience and education per WV code and district schedule.

The teacher will provide instruction, implement standards-based curriculum, and collaborate with special education staff, students, and families to support learning goals while using technology and differentiating instruction as required

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate for special education per WV Code §18A-3-2
• Criminal background check per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10
• Meet WV Code §18A-3-2a qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Incorporate 21st century technology skills.
• Collaborate with special education students and teachers.
• Engage in additional duties as assigned by Principal.
