Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public Schools seeks a Custodian Leader to oversee cleaning, safety and security of the building and coordinate services for school and outside group activities. Responsibilities include supervising cleaning operations, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safe conditions after hours and for events.

The role requires physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work long shifts. Experience as a custodian (1–3 years) is preferred to support a harmonious school

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning operations and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, supervisors, co-workers, parents, students, and the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to climb ladders and perform physical labor including long hours while standing.
• Perform duties including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.

• Performs cleaning, sanitation and maintenance duties as assigned
• Responsible for maintaining required building safety and security
• Maintains inventory of all custodial supplies
• Coordinates with Head Custodian the evening use of the building
• Sets up, takes down and cleans up after school and outside group events
• Responsible for keeping sidewalks, steps, etc. free of snow and ice
• Performs other duties assigned by the Head Custodian and School Principal Job Qualifications:

C1 $18.14 - $21.31/hr + $0.35 Shift Differential
