SMS group USA is seeking a Plating Technician to dismantle, prep, plate, and reassemble equipment used in copper plating. The role involves maintenance of plating tanks, handling parts, masking, and ensuring thickness per spec, under supervision.

You'll operate overhead cranes or forklifts (where certified), assist entry-level staff, and travel to other locations as needed. First shift, Monday–Friday, with possible weekends; benefits include insurance, vacation, 401k, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to report and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform electroplating tasks including maintenance of plating solution, tanks, pumps, and filters under supervision.
• Prepare parts through hand finishing, masking, and hanger/contacts installation.
• Pre-treat parts to remove grease, oil, and residues.
• Plate parts using plating tanks and submerge via overhead crane.
• Unmask parts after plating.
• Maintain area housekeeping and safety.
• Assist and guide entry level employees.
• Verify plating thickness per specification.
• Travel to other locations as required.

Responsabilités

• Dismantle, prep, plate and reassemble copper plating equipment.
• Maintain plating solution and tanks including routine maintenance.
• Mask, hang, and install parts for plating operations.
• Operate overhead crane for plating processes and check thickness per spec.
• Support clean-up and housekeeping in assigned area.
