Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Plating Technician in Osceola, AR to dismantle, prep, plate, and reassemble copper components and related equipment. Work is performed in the shop under supervision, handling electroplating tasks and maintaining equipment.

You will prepare parts, pre-treat, mask, and install hangers, while verifying plating thickness and supporting entry level staff. Some travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Experience with electroplating operations and machine handling is a plus.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow process instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of plating solution, tanks, pumps, and filters.
• Prepare parts: hand finishing, masking, and installing hangers and contacts.
• Pre-treat parts: remove grease, oil, and residues.
• Plating parts: operate overhead crane to submerge parts into plating tank.
• Unmask parts after plating; perform area housekeeping.
• Provide directions to entry level employees.
• Verify plating thickness per specification.
• May drive a forklift/crane after certification.
• May perform heat test to ensure adhesion.
• Travel to other locations may be required.
• All other duties as directed by Management.
