Overview
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Electrophysiology (EP) RN Coordinator manages all services and systems necessary for an organized, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of patients requiring electrophysiology procedures, implanted devices, and other EP interventions.
Responsibilities

- Develop and manage the electrophysiology program, ensuring patient-centered care for the CVI Electrophysiology Program.
- Coordinate electrophysiology procedures and cardiac device clinics, collaborating with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, primary care providers, and other specialists.
- Manage patient navigation for electrophysiology services, communicating care plans and pertinent information.
- Participate in patient visits to provide education and resources.
- Review and assist in managing Cardiac Device Specialist schedules and industry databases.
- Develop protocols and standards for the cardiac device team with the Clinical Manager.
- Perform procedures such as Metabolic Stress Tests and Tilt Table Testing independently.
- Assist with Loop Recorder implantations and explants in collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers.
- Triages patient concerns via direct contact and telephone assessments to facilitate appropriate care.
- Review and coordinate schedules for EP MDs and APPs, managing tasks within the RN scope.
- Create educational programs for staff and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Analyze data to assess growth and patient access, contributing to staff engagement initiatives.
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing standards, policies, and procedures to support patient care.
- Conduct physical assessments, identify potential clinical issues, and respond to emergent situations.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of cardiac conditions and arrhythmia recognition and interpretation.
- Participate in education, research, and mentorship of healthcare providers.
- Complete mandatory safety and infection control training annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- RN licensure in Rhode Island or through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- IBHRE certification desirable within two years.
- Minimum of three years of cardiology-related experience, with electrophysiology experience preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ambulatory outpatient cardiology setting with occasional stressful situations. Ability to perform physical assessments and respond swiftly to clinical issues.
