Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient-centered care. The RN will uphold the organization's mission and values while practicing within the legal and ethical frameworks. Responsibilities include establishing therapeutic relationships, effective communication, and leadership. Candidates should have a nursing degree, RN license in Connecticut, and BCLS certification.

As an integral member of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) healthcare team, the Registered Professional Nurse (RN) upholds the YNHHS mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives to provide the highest level of patient centered care. The RN practices professional nursing within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model. The role of the RN includes leadership, delegation, collaboration, effective communication, and ensuring quality outcomes. YNHHS nurses practice according to our professional practice model: "Achieving outcomes through Autonomy and Accountability." The RN provides care that:
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required within one month of hire.
Experience: All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical program.
Licensure: Current RN license in Connecticut; clinical certification encouraged.
Skills and Physical Demands: Prolonged standing, walking, sensory use, exposure to infectious diseases, physical and emotional stress, and ability to assist with patient handling up to 300 pounds.
