Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO seeks an Electrophysics Engr/Scien (Radar Systems Analysis) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team. You will help design, upgrade and validate radar test stations and related SIL assets used for avionics integration in military aircraft programs.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary group, develop hardware architectures, analyze requirements, and ensure traceability from concept through integration. Relocation is offered and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in Radar systems.
  • 1 year experience in Radar systems analysis and design.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in analyzing customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for SIL test sites and products.
  • Assists with and develop high-level and detailed designs.
  • Assist with and develop and maintain Radar test station hardware.
  • Validate designs through various methods of analysis, peer review, standalone testing.
  • Identify, track and status technical performance measures to gauge progress and ensure requirement compliance.
  • Support supplier management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services such as fabrication.
  • Assist with integrating designs into existing SILs infrastructure.
  • Provide engineering support to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of these and existing SIL products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Radar Target Generator Design Engineer for Flight Simulation Labs, located in Berkeley, MO .

The Flight Simulation Labs organization has expertise supporting marketing, design, development, integration, test and training objectives for Boeing military aircraft such as T-7, F-15, F-18, and MQ-25. As a Radar Test Station Design Engineer, you will be a part of a team of engineers who develops, upgrades, maintains integration test sites and their subcomponents for use in avionics systems integration laboratories (SILs). You will utilize engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to create and refine hardware designs, specifications, and architectures for various radar test stations and systems, ensuring alignment with program requirements and objectives

Position Responsibilities
  • Assists in analyzing customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications needed in various SIL test sites / common products for new systems as well as upgrades to existing equipment located in STL as well as at remote locations
  • Assists with and develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with these requirements and specifications
  • Assist with and develop and maintain Radar test station hardware
  • Validate designs through various methods of analysis, peer review, standalone testing
  • Identify, track and status technical performance measures to gauge progress / ensure requirement compliance
  • Support supplier management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services such as fabrication
  • Assist with integrating designs into existing SILs infrastructure
  • Provide engineering support to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of these and existing SIL products
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Significant internal and external customer interaction
  • Maintain configuration management of test station hardware and software

This position is expected to be 100% onsite

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1 year experience in Radar systems
  • 1 year experience in Radar systems analysis and design
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Comprehensive understanding of circuit design, working with schematics
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications (Level 2)
  • 1 or more years of experience with internal Radar operation
  • Familiar with Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM)
  • Understanding of field-programmable gate array (FPGA)
  • Experience with Radar testing
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and testing
  • Experience in working with and developing embedded hardware/software architectures
  • Knowledgeable in RF and Microwave design
