Electronics Validation Engineer
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an Electronics Validation Engineer for the Electronic Validation Team within the Electronic Development Department (EDD), part of the Electronic Systems Development (ESD) Division.
The Team:
EDD manages the design and validation of body electronic features and components for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
The Position:
The Electronics Validation Engineer will oversee the performance of in-cabin cameras in Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles, ensuring compliance with Driver Distraction Guidelines. Responsibilities include performing technical validation, developing validation test plans and reports, and focusing on functional performance. The role requires:
- Collaborating with stakeholders such as R&D, suppliers, and quality departments
- Understanding system components and architecture
- Providing recommendations to enhance user experience (UX)
- Applying troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Communicating effectively with management and SMEs
What You Will Do:
- Conduct end-to-end validation based on Test Development Plans (TDPs), including creating and updating TDPs to improve validation efficiency
- Create and present management reports on project status, technical progress, trends, and benchmarking studies
- Participate in design reviews to define requirements and translate them into TDPs and execution plans
- Engage in vehicle benchmarking activities, including planning, evaluations, and reporting
- Identify and report system deficiencies and support resolution efforts
- Support testing and issue resolution during and after vehicle system launches
- Stay current with NHTSA guidelines and industry developments
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with R&D and other teams
- Travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or automotive engineering or related field
- Automotive engineering experience
- Knowledge of vehicle communication technologies like CAN and Ethernet
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Familiarity with ECU hardware/software design
- Experience in in-vehicle validation testing and benchmarking
- Understanding of DOT and NHTSA Driver Distraction Guidelines
- Ability to evaluate UI implementations and electrical component specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in related fields
- Experience from concept to launch in automotive product development
