Job summary

Gavial ITC in Santa Barbara, CA, is hiring a full‑time Test Technician to perform a range of electronic, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical tests on systems and subassemblies. You will verify functionality against specifications and help identify failure causes through systematic testing.

The role requires reading test procedures and diagrams, operating equipment like multimeters, hi-pot testers, oscilloscopes, and analyzing results to support production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Reads test procedures, work orders, and schematics to determine testing procedures.
• Tests systems and parts under environmental conditions (temperature, vibration, humidity) to verify performance.
• Analyzes results to troubleshoot to the component level.
• Reads voltage, frequency, resistance, and other electrical characteristics from instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate electronic systems and subassemblies.
• Record test data and document non-conformances for major defects.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve testing issues.
• Devise test setups for nonstandard or customer-returned units.
