CAREL USA, Inc. is seeking an Electronics Test Technician for the third shift in Manheim, PA. You will apply electrical principles to assemble, install, and test wiring and components in industrial control panels, ensuring safety and quality across all stages of production.

You will read electrical schematics, perform functional tests on energized equipment up to 480V, and collaborate with engineering and QA to review BOMs and drawings. Strong attention to safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification preferred.
• 2–4 years electrical work with industrial control panels or 3–5 yrs in similar industries.
• Fluent in English and able to read and comprehend instructions.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: Apply electrical principles to assemble, install and test electrical wiring, components, and equipment into industrial control panels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.

• Conduct functional testing of energized equipment with voltages up to 480V
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and other electrical components.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality control to review bill of materials, drawings, and schematics
• Demonstrate electrical safety practices and use of proper PPE as required.
• Manufacture prototypes of new products, identifyingproblems, and providing feedback.
• Work with production engineers to obtain new tools and equipment when required.
• Perform complex wiring and assembly operations on assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Keep organized and a clean workspace.
• Use and maintainfabrication tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies such as crimpers, wire stripping tools, and label machines.
• Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each ESSENTIAL DUTY. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program is required. Electrical safety training such as NFPA 70E or similar is preferred.
• Experience:2-4 years electrical work with industrial control panels or 3-5 yrs. of experience or transferable knowledge from similar industries required.
• Language and Communication Skills: The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Fluent in English.
• Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts.
• Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to Work Independently: -Demonstrated capacity to manage tasks and projects with minimal supervision. Strong self-motivation and initiative to identify and solve problems proactively. Ability tomakeinformed decisions and take responsibility for outcomes. Ability to maintain productivity and quality of work while working autonomously.
• Coordinating, coaching, and training teams effectively:- Providing clear and concise written and verbal instructions to team members and addressing any queries or issues promptly. Planning and organizing daily activities while delegating tasks efficiently.
• Certifications -Electrical or Electronic Technology certification preferred but not required.
• Familiar with IEC style schematics
• Knowledge of UL 508A design concepts

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The ability to stand 8+ hours a day. The ability to reach and bend. The ability to frequently lift, push, or pull, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is required. The ability to wear all proper PPE’s, as required. The employee must be able to work in a state of constant alertness and in a safe manner.
