Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join our onsite team in Yaphank, NY. You will perform electrical and electronic testing, troubleshoot down to the component level, and support product development and validation efforts.

You will read schematics, configure test software, and help create procedures while coordinating with engineering, quality and production teams. A strong electronics background and hands-on mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical or electronic testing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the component level.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, DVMs and test equipment.
• Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Experience testing PCBs.

Responsibilities

• Test electrical and electronic circuit boards, assemblies and systems and troubleshoot to component level.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic and system-level failures and communicate findings to engineering.
• Write and maintain in-process test procedures for assemblies and boards; assist fixture development.
• Load and configure software for system testing and support prototype builds.
• Document test results, faults and corrective actions; support quality initiatives.
• Travel to customer sites for inspections, installations, troubleshooting, repairs and support.
