Electronics Test Technician

The Electronics Test Technician Specialist completes work according to instructions, specifications and procedures. Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro- and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
  • Reviews shop traveler route card or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
  • Performs a variety of tests to verify circuitry and to test effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment
  • Receives parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as verifying checks
  • Performs testing and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and other related test equipment
  • Sets up test equipment and conducts tests per specification
  • Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro‑component level
  • Provides detailed written failure descriptions with root‑cause analysis to production and engineering
  • Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required; may need to work nights and weekends, variable schedules and additional hours as necessary
Qualifications

Education: A secondary certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field.

Years of Experience: 5 years or more of relevant experience.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN: U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship).

Skills
  • Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics
  • Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows software applications
