Job summary

Knowles is seeking a test technician to conduct electronic tests on parts to ensure units function according to specifications and to determine causes of failures. The role requires reading schedules, manuals, and schematics to select testing procedures and equipment, plus calibration and data recording responsibilities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 months related experience, English proficiency (Spanish a plus), and the ability to present information clearly.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience or training acceptable.
• Must read, comprehend, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees.
• Ability to perform basic math and interpret simple graphs and charts.
• US citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status or applicable authorization.

Responsibilities

• Reads testing schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
• Tests functional performance of parts under specified environmental conditions (temperature, vibration, pressure, humidity).
• Calibrates test instruments according to specifications.
• Connects unit to test equipment.
• Reads dials and displays for voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
• Compares results with specifications and records data or plots results.
• Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.
• Maintains manual or computerized production and inspection records.
