Job summary

The Department of the Air Force Headquarters at Hill AFB, Utah seeks an Electronics Technician (ATCALS) to certify and maintain radar and communications systems to USAF/FAA standards. You will modify systems per FAA/DoD/AF guidance and participate in planning and execution of projects.

You will also provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to apprentices, follow safety rules, and work across ATCALS facilities on rugged remote mountaintop sites when required.

Qualifications

• TIG requirements apply for General Schedule positions; time-in-grade details provided in the job posting.
• Education transcripts may be required if a degree is a basis for qualification.
• Foreign education may be used if credentialed as equivalent to U.S. education.
• Volunteer/part-time experience may be considered for qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide certification and maintenance support on integrated radar and communications systems meeting USAF and FAA standards.
• Modify radar and communications systems as prescribed by FAA, DoD, or AF.
• Participate in project planning and execution.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and OJT to apprentices and other technicians.
• Maintain safety practices and a safe work environment.
