Job description

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Applies advanced electrical skills to design and specify equipment for new installations and improvement of existing control equipment.
  • Maintains accurate records of electrical equipment such as electric schematics, breaker panel sheets, backup copies of PLC and MMI programs, PC applications, etc.
  • Support General Plant Electrical, Maintenance, and Preventative Maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment, maintain, and improve electrical control systems, and complete work orders.
  • Recommends, develops and implements modifications and systems to improve equipment operation and provide for automation of plant goals.
  • Provides direction and training for less skilled maintenance personnel.
  • Participates in cross functional teams such as safety, technology, energy conservation, etc.
  • Communicate with other shifts to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment and effectively operate as part of a team.
  • Conform to Osceola Food’s policies and procedures including, but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Lock Out/Tag Out, HACCP check points, Quality Standards, Fall Protection, Hot Work, OSHA Regulations, and all others
  • Management reserves the right, as it deems necessary to assign jobs on a temporary basis in any manner that supports efficient plant operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years industrial electronics training and two years industrial controls experienceorfour years of industrial controls experience.
  • Must be able to perform and train self/others in basic electrical and mechanical skills, mechanical repairs and overhauls, maintenance systems, computer skills, new technologies in preventive/predictive maintenance, problem solving/troubleshooting, etc. where skills are not at the required level.
  • Must be able to program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC’s, Wonderware systems, VFD drives, Windows NT and Fiber Optic/Ethernet systems. and related control networks.
  • Standing in one spot on a work stand or at a work station except during breaks and lunches
  • Climbing up and down 50 steps to both enter/exit the facility and to/from production floor
  • The ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and frequently bend and twist
  • Working on short notice, working 8 to 12 hours per day, work several days in a row if our business dictates and work mandatory overtime throughout the week and weekend
  • Working in average temperatures of 35-45 degrees or less
  • Working with different types of raw, chilled, processed, or ready-to-eat meats
  • Following our strict sanitation requirements, including but not limited to, wearing hear nets, beard nets, and washing hands frequently, no jewelry, no nail polish, etc.
  • Following our strict safety requirement, including wearing a hart hat, ear/eye protection, vinyl gloves, uniforms, and hand/foot protection
  • Practice safe working procedures in accordance with safety policies of Osceola Food, LLC
