Job summary

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) seeks an Electronics Technician Maintenance I for the White Sands Missile Range in Orogrande, NM.

You will apply basic electronics knowledge to replace components, test circuits, and repair equipment under supervision, using common instruments and schematics. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, modifying equipment, and supporting cross-functional tasks across the range.

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in Electronics or equivalent, or High School diploma plus two years avionics/electronics experience.
  • Computer/Networking/MS Office knowledge.
  • Basic electronics background with avionics background preferred.

  • Troubleshoot and isolate electronic circuits and interpret manuals and schematics.
  • Modify and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices.

Work Location: Orogrande, NM (White Sands Missile Range)

SA-TECH provides the U. S. Army, other U.S. agencies and allied nations with Aerial Target Flight Services (ATFS), operating and maintaining aerial target flight operations for any directed mission and aerial target flight operations and maintenance services at Fort Bliss, TX; White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM; and other Posts, Camps, and Stations (PCS) in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside CONUS (OCONUS).

We are currently seeking to hire an Electronics Technician Maintenance I at WSMR based out of our facilities in Orogrande, NM.

As an ETM, you’ll need to apply basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers and oscilloscopes. You’d have to apply your technical knowledge of electronics principles to determine equipment malfunctions, and then apply your skill to restore equipment to working condition, as well as to evaluate performance and reliability of prototypes or production modes. You’d work under close supervision, receiving technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician and your work would be checked frequently for accuracy.

Primary functions for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Applying basic technical knowledge to perform routine O&M tasks following detailed instructions.
  • Troubleshooting and isolating electronic circuits and interpreting Technical Manuals and schematics.
  • Modifying and installing various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
  • Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

  • Conditions will vary but most work will be accomplished in enclosed buildings.
  • There will be work on the range throughout the year so temperatures will vary over the course of the year.
  • Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work.
  • The position will require overtime and weekend work.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., unassisted, to the waist.
  • You must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS for short stints.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Two-year degree in the Electronics field or equivalent or High School diploma + two (2) years Avionics/Electronics experience.
  • Computer/Networking/MS Office.
  • Basic electronics background with an avionics background preferred.
  • Must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs to the waist.
  • Current NM or TX Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance within 45 days of hire date and maintain Clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
