Job description

Join to apply for the Electronics Technician II - 2nd Shift role at Schwan's Company.

Pay: $32.50
Plus Shift Differential of $1.50 from 6PM-6AM.

This position, under general supervision, is responsible for performing standard design and fabrication of electronic equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems used in the plant.

Responsibilities
  1. Builds printed circuit boards and electronic sub-assemblies. Constructs discrete or integrated electronic circuits. Calculates resistance, loads, currents, and component sizes appropriate to the application.
  2. Assists in the fabrication of electrical and electronic systems and tests final assemblies.
  3. Performs periodic inspections of all scales, meters, controllers, recorders, and other measuring devices used in production or facility support systems.
  4. Calibrates instruments to ensure accurate control or recording. Replaces, repairs, and adjusts equipment to perform as designed.
  5. Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, and verifications on all control components.
  6. Maintains material lists and assists in preparing purchasing requests.
  7. Modifies and writes logic control programs. Assists in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and similar problems and applies appropriate corrective actions.
  8. Reads and interprets schematic drawings and diagrams for maintenance or installation of plant equipment.
  9. Performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on electrical and electronic equipment.
  10. Programs frequency drives, writes drive logic in PLC code, creates HMI applications, uploads/downloads PLC programs and HMI applications, programs ladder logic, and integrates new processes into equipment.
  11. Participates in and completes training to increase job-related trade skills.
  12. Helps train maintenance employees to keep equipment in good repair.
  13. Reports electrical or related problems to supervisors.
  14. Performs duties in accordance with USDA, company policies, and maintains a clean work area.
  15. Conducts oneself and subordinates in a manner consistent with company standards and ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1-3 years related experience.
  • Skills: Advanced electrical and maintenance knowledge; ability to design electrical and electronic assemblies, read schematics, and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and Servos; proficiency with software such as Allen Bradley, Square D, Siemens, Omron, SAP.
  • Additional: Ability to read and interpret safety and operational manuals, complete work orders, perform calculations, and adhere to safety policies. Must be able to lift 90 lbs and obtain a forklift license.
