Job summary

Centurum is seeking a Depot Electronics Technician III to diagnose and repair complex shipboard electronic systems in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, and disassembly of RF, HF, and related equipment, using advanced test instruments and following DoD security requirements.

Requires six years of C4ISR experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Six years of recent C4ISR or related experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and disassembly of electronic systems.
• Experience with HF/RF and shipboard electronic equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, install and disassemble electronic systems and components.
• Use logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and other test equipment to trace faults.
• Interface with engineering and management to ensure compliance and performance.

Job description

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. The work includes determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. It requires understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment to perform tasks such as making circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, tracing relationships in signal flow, and using complex test instruments such as high‑frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by a supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices and may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

Experience performing overhauls and repairs on shipboard electronics systems such as High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems is required. Operational knowledge of URN‑25, WSC‑3, USQ‑122, SSR‑1, URT‑23, DAMA, WRL‑8, and STC‑2 is a plus.

Required Skills/Years of Experience

Six (6) years recent C4ISR or other relevant experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, and disassembly of electronic systems, equipment, components, antennas, cables, cableways, waveguides, and ducts, while using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.

Preferred Skills

Quality Management System experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008 and 2015.

Remarks

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

Compensation: $38.50–$55 per hour. Compensation for positions at Centurum varies depending on location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
