Job description

Our Electronic Technician is a member of a multi-functional team providing Technical Support Services for the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, OK. The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment, and taking test readings using common instruments like digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision, receiving technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. The Electronic Technician shall complete all tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, and technical instructions. Standard individual administrative tasks include recording time, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned; and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail in duties. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and installation services for designated equipment at the request of FAALC Product Divisions or Groups. Examples of tasks include:

  • NAVAID antenna and component repair.
  • Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting.
  • Circuit board testing and repair.
  • Production and repair of electronic cables and wires, performing equipment performance analyses, and data collection and reporting.
  • Performing equipment adjustment and testing.
  • Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
  • Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
Qualifications include:
  • High School diploma / GED with completion of formal technical training courses OR an Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
  • Familiarity with basic electronics test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, AC/DC power supplies, and power meters.
  • Experience in through-hole soldering / de-soldering.
  • Ability to interpret basic analogue and digital circuit schematics and symbols.
  • Basic electronics troubleshooting skills using test equipment.
  • Ability to obtain NACI Clearance and Public Trust.
  • Must possess two forms of unexpired identification, including one primary government-issued ID and one secondary ID, such as a social security card, birth certificate, or U.S. passport.
