The selected applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Electrical, Electronic, and Computerized Traffic Control Systems across Beaufort, Greene, Lenoir, and Pitt Counties, and throughout Division 2. Responsibilities include installing, testing, and inspecting new and upgraded Traffic Control Systems, wiring traffic signals, troubleshooting electrical diagrams, replacing faulty parts, and performing maintenance tasks independently. Work will be evaluated for efficiency and proper system operation. Knowledge of electrical principles, diagnostic skills, and the ability to repair complex electrical equipment are essential.
The candidate must hold a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker endorsement or obtain it within 360 days of hire. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, operate aerial bucket trucks, and perform manual labor in extreme weather conditions is required. Safety shoes are necessary. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer evaluation and drug testing.
Associate's degree in electronics plus one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensure may be required based on work performed.
