Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Fort Wayne, Indiana site. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Electronics or 3+ years hands-on experience, with ability to read schematics, and operate calibration equipment. Shift flexibility includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electronics or at least three years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics.
  • At least 1 year experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • At least 1 year experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits to root cause of failure.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and apply written work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install intricate electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • Calibrate equipment using precision measuring and test equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and manual records.
  • Ensure calibration and equipment compliance as required.

Shift Requirements

Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Construct, perform complex diagnosis, troubleshoot, repair, and install intricate electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Use precision measuring and analytical test equipment processes to calibrate a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply requirements from provided instructions (i.e. blueprints, manuals, schematics, layouts, verbal instructions, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, electronic and manual.
  • Assure calibration and equipment compliance as required.
  • Provide instructions and training on use of newly constructed or diagnosed equipment.
  • Perform duties related to proper material movement and handling.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Pay
  • Union Role Pay Salary Range: Starting at $38.50***
Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Associates degree in Electronics or at least three years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics.
  • At least 1 year experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • At least 1 year experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits down to the root cause of the failure.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and apply written work instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye/hand/finger coordination for handling small electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Information entry via a computer.
Pay Information

This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
