Job summary

Responsibilities
Job Summary

The Electronics Technician supports all assigned maintenance activities with a focus on electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and safety compliance. This role is hands‑on and responsible for day‑to‑day troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of a wide variety of electronic and electrical equipment in a nonwoven industrial environment. The technician must be knowledgeable in medium and low voltage systems, industrial protocols, and precision calibration techniques.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems including GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley, and Siemens.
  • Program, tune, and repair VFDs including Siemens G120, Masterdrives, Yaskawa, Emerson, Toshiba, and Lenze.
  • Recognize and isolate medium voltage systems (4kV and 12kV) and establish Electrically Safe Work Conditions (ESWC) in line with NFPA 70E.
  • Troubleshoot 480V, 3‑phase systems and understand safe LOTO practices.
  • Calibrate and validate electronic and pneumatic instruments.
  • Interpret and occasionally modify electrical schematics and PLC programs.
  • Understand and troubleshoot analog signal and communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
  • Use CMMS to enter work orders, log maintenance activity, and request parts.
  • Communicate effectively with shift teams, planners, and engineering staff.
  • Ensure clean, organized, and safe work areas; participate in safety and schedule meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Industrial Electronics or related discipline preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electronics maintenance or reliability experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and control systems including low and medium voltage equipment.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Experience in interpreting and working with electrical drawings and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work independently on a 12‑hour fixed night shift schedule.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and elevated areas throughout 12‑hour shifts.
  • Exposure to industrial noise, heat, humidity, cold, and chemical environments.
  • Work performed in and around fast‑moving production machinery.
  • Must be comfortable using PPE and navigating production floor safety requirements.
