Job summary

Magnera Corporation in Mooresville, NC seeks a dedicated Maintenance Technician to support production and facility systems. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, safety-focused work ethic, and the ability to work overtime as needed. On-the-job training and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in basic computer use including email and Office.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders and document work performed.
  • Respond to urgent Priority 1 maintenance issues quickly.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment using diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and service production, facility, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Support electrical systems including drives, PLCs, and control components.
  • Assist with parts identification, equipment repairs, and installations.
  • Participate in daily safety and priority meetings.
  • Support root cause analysis for equipment failures.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operating standards.
  • Work overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of production and support equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting

Preferred

  • Associate or technical degree in a related field
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits
  • Experience with motor control systems, PLCs, communication systems, relay logic, and ladder logic
  • Familiarity with paper waste recovery systems, balers, and cyclone systems
  • Experience with machine roller and component rigging for overhead crane use
  • Safe working knowledge of shop equipment, including lathe, mill, press, welder, and saws
