Job summary

RTX in New York is seeking an experienced on-site maintenance technician to support industrial systems across pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and calibrate HVAC, piping, and power systems, read blueprints, and perform TPMs, with 1st‑shift training and potential for 2nd/3rd/5th shifts; travel may be required.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, A/C and refrigeration, and vacuum systems.
• Ability to fabricate; 2+ years of industrial technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and power transmission systems.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, piping, and electrical services.
• Perform regular TPM, machine checks, and scheduled repairs.
• Respond to production emergencies and report safety concerns.
• Perform electrical, carpentry, plumbing, machining, and welding tasks as needed.
• Read blueprints and wiring schematics to diagnose problems with electronic controls.
• Work off‑shift (1st‑shift training up to one year, then shift 2/3/5) with travel for education.
• Eligible for shift differentials on 2nd, 3rd, and 5th shifts after training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and power transmission systems using multi‑meters, pressure/vacuum/flow gauges, and temperature/humidity recording gauges to meet historical standards and perform calibrations on electronic/electrical devices.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility support services equipment, including HVAC, process piping (gases, liquids, air, and vacuum), and electrical services (install conduit and wiring).
• Perform regular scheduled TPM, machine checks, and scheduled repairs.
• Respond to production emergencies and report any potentially dangerous situations.
• Perform electrical, carpentry, plumbing, machining, and welding tasks as needed.
• Read blueprints and wiring schematics to diagnose and repair problems with electronic controls and associated systems relative to industrial equipment operations (motor controls, programmable controls, CNC controls, relay logic, AC/DC power supplies).
• Work off‑shift (initial 1st‑shift training up to one year, then selected to shift 2, 3, or 5). Some travel for education may be required.
• Eligible for 6% shift differential on 2nd shift and 8% shift differential on 3rd and 5th shifts once training is completed.
