Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and install electrical systems, wiring diagrams, control panels, and electronic components for motorized products and equipment.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), wiring instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and improve motor controls, sensors, limit switches, control boards, and related electrical components.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical systems into new and existing products.
  • Evaluate new technologies, components, and suppliers to improve product performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Support new product development from concept through production launch.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues identified during manufacturing, testing, installation, or field service.
  • Partner with Manufacturing to improve assembly processes, reduce defects, and increase production efficiency.
  • Develop and execute validation and reliability testing for electrical systems and components.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product failures and quality concerns.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate revision control.
  • Provide technical support and training to Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Field Service teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  • Assist with prototype builds, product testing, and product certifications as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering or related engineering field preferred or associate’s degree with equivalent industry experience;
  • 2+ years of electrical technology experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience designing low-voltage electrical systems, motor controls, and electromechanical products.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software for schematic design.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
  • Experience with PLCs, embedded controls, microcontrollers, or motor drive systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and best engineering practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily works in an office environment with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor.
  • May require occasional travel to suppliers, customer sites, or field installations for testing and troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach during manufacturing support activities.
  • Ability to inspect products and electrical assemblies, including close visual work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk for long periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
