Job Description:

Note: This position requires 100% travel throughout the US.

T4 Program Summary: The FAA awarded the T4 contract to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor managing activities supporting FAA’s modernization efforts across the nation, including site selection, engineering, construction, environmental, fire/life safety, equipment installation, and testing. Work spans FAA regions and facilities, supporting an average staff of 400-500, peaking over 650, including subcontractors.

Role:

The Electronics Technician maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, and installs electronic equipment such as radar, radio, telecommunication, sonar, navigational aids, computers, and industrial devices. The technician uses electronics principles to diagnose malfunctions, restore operations, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements.

The Maintenance I role involves performing routine tasks like component replacement, wiring, testing, and repair using instruments like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators, under close supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with site preparation for voice switches at Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs.
• Supporting Fiber Optics Terminal System installations across the Southwest Region.
• Assisting with electronics installation, integration, and testing for radio rehoming, monitoring, and other FAA systems.
• Replacing components, wiring, and connectors.
• Soldering and splicing wires.
• Testing and troubleshooting electrical components and systems.
• Calibrating audio and communication equipment.
• Installing sensors, cables, radios, and satellites in various environments.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma is required.
• Additional electronics training is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in testing, repairing, and installing complex electronics, including fiber optics and radio control systems.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb towers up to 50 ft.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Internet, and email.
• Ability to meet security requirements and pass a background check.
