Advance Underwater Technology in Riviera Beach, FL is hiring an Electronics Technician on a full-time basis for a 12-month contract. You will assemble, test, and repair advanced underwater mission electronics, following strict engineering drawings and quality standards.

Occasional travel domestically and internationally is required to support prototypes and production. The role demands 3+ years in electronics assembly, strong soldering and diagnostic skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of direct electronics assembly experience.
• Proficient in soldering, wire harness fabrication, crimping, and troubleshooting.
• Able to interpret complex documentation and schematics.
• Strong use of oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Hand soldering on PCBs and cable assemblies.
• Construct and terminate wire harnesses per blueprints.
• Perform visual and electrical checks, insulation resistance, and continuity testing.
• Analyze schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs to guide work.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electronic systems.

• Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Work Schedule: 4/10 Schedule | Monday-Thursday | First Shift
• Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel up to 3 weeks per assignment

In the capacity of an Electronics Technician, you will be instrumental in the assembly, testing, and repair of advanced underwater mission technologies. Your technical proficiency ensures that critical equipment functions reliably in challenging environments. Core Responsibilities

• Execute precise hand soldering on printed circuit boards, cable connectors, and various electronic assemblies.
• Construct and terminate wire harnesses by following detailed engineering blueprints and specifications to ensure system integrity.
• Perform thorough visual and electrical checks, including insulation resistance and continuity testing, to maintain high standards.
• Analyze complex engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material to guide your technical work.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electronic systems to help restore full operational capability.
• Maintain accurate records of all corrective actions, repair processes, and testing outcomes.
• Operate within ESD-controlled and clean room environments to ensure the highest level of product quality and safety.
• Assist in prototype builds and field service operations to help bring new technologies to market.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve technical hurdles and streamline production workflows.
• Travel to various field sites and customer locations to provide essential equipment setup, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Finalize cable assemblies using molding and potting techniques to create durable, watertight barriers.
• Utilize diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters to ensure equipment meets performance benchmarks.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military/industry experience.
• At least 3 years of direct experience in electronics assembly.
• Demonstrated proficiency in soldering, wire harness fabrication, crimping, and electronic troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and engineering schematics.
• Strong command of electronic diagnostic tools and multimeters.
• Commitment to precision and high-quality workmanship.
• Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team structure.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.
• Eligibility for a Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret status if required.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 30 pounds consistently.

Preferred Qualifications

• J-STD-001 Certification for soldered assemblies.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification for cable and wire harness work.
• OSHA Safety Certification.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, reflow ovens, and wire stripping equipment.
• Fiber optic expertise including terminations, splicing, and OTDR testing.
• Background in supporting defense, aerospace, or marine mission-critical systems.

Compensation and Benefits
