Job summary

Micro Precision in Grass Valley, CA, is seeking a Calibration Technician for calibrating a range of test instruments across electrical, industrial, and temperature equipment. You will perform standards maintenance, collect calibration data, and complete certifications, including out-of-tolerance conditions, while sharing knowledge with team members and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Travel up to 25% to customer sites is possible; applicants new to calibration industry are encouraged

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional equipment preferred.
• Experience with basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred.
• Strong math skills and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience using MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and under supervision of Senior Technicians.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate a variety of test instruments across Electrical, Industrial, and Temperature equipment.
• Perform standards maintenance and checks of company standards as assigned by Lab Manager.
• Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets; complete calibration certifications including out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Share knowledge and best practices with other team members; continue training.
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in task performance and compliance with company policies.
• Communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers via phone, in person, and email.

About this position

Description:

• Responsible for calibrating a variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:
  • Electrical Equipment
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Temperature Equipment
• Perform standards maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager
• Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
• Continue to be trained in all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share gained knowledge and other best practices with other team members
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in the performance of tasks and compliy with the company
• Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person and through email

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Basic Knowledge of Mechanical and Dimensional equipment preferred
• Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred
• Basic mathematics understanding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and under the supervision of Senior Technicians
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance

Training

We accept applicants new to the calibration industry who are eager to learn

Work Environment

• Work performed in the local laboratory and at customer facilities
• Up to 25% out of town, overnight travel
