Job summary

JT4, LLC is seeking an Operations and maintenance technician specializing in ground-based electronic systems. Under guidance, you will install, maintain, repair, overhaul, and test a range of electronic equipment and related devices.

You will diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot to the component level, and perform soldering as needed. This role requires 3 years of hands-on electronics experience and ISCET certification, with field work and occasional remote locations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience in electronics required.
• ISCET certification or equivalent credential.
• Strong understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems.
• Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and high-power RF devices.
• Ability to troubleshoot to the component level and soldering competency.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests electronic equipment.
• Operates and maintains electronic transmitting/receiving equipment, digital/analog computers, and related test gear.

Job description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Operations and maintenance technician, working under general technical guidance, who specializes in ground-based electronic systems.

• Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing.
• Operates and maintains electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems.
• Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition. Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays.
• Troubleshoots to the component level and makes needed repairs. Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory, or a military equivalent and 3 years of hands-on experience are required for this position.

In addition, an Electronic Technician must possess the following qualifications:

• International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics
• Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems
• Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment
• Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power RF devices
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Outdoor duties may be performed on gravel or shingled roof. Climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, indoors or outdoors, is required. Government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. Ability to work in a field environment with some shift work, at remote locations with occasional overnight assignments. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance). Travel to remote working locations will be required.
