Job summary

Donatech Corporation in Colorado Springs is seeking a skilled technician to support engineering hardware fabrication, troubleshooting, testing, and lab operations. The role involves assembling electronic/electrical chassis and mechanical racks, following development drawings, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

You will work with customers and vendors, build cables and harnesses, perform tests, document results, and cabling of rack assemblies to spec. This position is on site in Colorado Springs.

Qualifications

• AA in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is highly preferred.
• Candidate must be capable of working independently and discussing technical issues with customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate electronic/electrical chassis and mechanical rack assemblies.
• Perform evaluations, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.
• Integrate and cabling rack assemblies.
• Daily cable and harness techniques including wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and testing.
• Work from schematics and engineering drawings; operate lab equipment.
• Build, route, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cables in a rack; conduct in-process inspections.

Job description

Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech.

Consist of engineering hardware fabrication support, troubleshooting, testing and basic Laboratory operations responsibility. Some climbing on ladders may be required as well as lifting up to 25lbs. These responsibilities will include fabrication of electronic/electrical chassis' and mechanical rack fabrication using development engineering drawings. Candidate must be capable of working independently, discussing technical issues with customers and working with vendors. An AA in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is highly preferred.

This position will perform a variety of tasks ranging from evaluations, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as cables and harnesses. A large portion of this position will be integrating and cabling rack assemblies.

• Daily cable and harness techniques (wire cutting, stripping, cable prep and layup, connectorization, crimping, pinning, soldering, jacketing, braiding, molding, use of lacing tape and spot ties for open wire bundles, testing, etc.)
• Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions
• Operates related equipment/tools
• Conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format
• Position requires the use of lab equipment
• Work collaboratively with management team to correct and improve upon any documents related to the processes
• Build, route, and dress Cat5e/Cat6 cables in a rack and test functionality
• Conduct in-process inspections on product in accordance with quality specifications
