Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Electrical Technician at the Bedford, Indiana Production Facility to support full-rate production. This hands-on role covers fabrication, integration, assembly, and testing of mission-critical containerized systems for operations.

The position involves wiring harnesses, soldering, continuity testing, and coordinating with the Cable Shop Lead and Production Manager to ensure daily priorities are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience in electrical assembly, cable fabrication, or systems integration.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with MIL-SPEC and commercial connector crimping and termination.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, oscilloscope).
• Ability to work in a production environment including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and install electrical harnesses, cable assemblies, and wiring systems per drawings and work instructions.
• Perform crimping, soldering, and termination of connectors.
• Build and test battery cable assemblies, power distribution systems, and low-voltage control wiring.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing of completed cable assemblies and electrical systems.
• Support integration of communications equipment, RF systems, antennas, and electronic enclosures.
• Identify and document drawing discrepancies, redlines, and non-conformances.
• Maintain accurate production records, traveler documentation, and timekeeping per program requirements.
• Support inventory management, kitting, and staging of electrical components and materials.
• Coordinate with the Cable Shop Lead and Production Manager on daily priorities and production sequencing.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and ESD handling requirements on the production floor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required - Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred

Experience:

• At least two (2) years of experience in electrical assembly, cable fabrication, or systems integration Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams


• Experience with MIL-SPEC and commercial connector crimping and termination

Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active SECRET security clearance - U.S. Citizenship required

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
