Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks an Electronics Quality Technician-I for on-site support at our Salt Lake City facility. You will inspect PCB assemblies, perform rework, and support testing while maintaining ESD-safe work practices.

The role requires practical electronics experience, soldering skills, and the ability to read basic circuit drawings. Candidates must be U.S. Persons and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1–2 years hands-on electronics manufacturing or assembly experience or an Associate’s degree in Electronics.
• Proficiency with soldering equipment (hand irons, hot air, bottom burners).
• Familiar with multimeters and basic hand tools; able to read wiring diagrams or simple circuit drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and functional inspection of PCB assemblies under magnification per IPC-J-STD 001 standards.
• Conduct basic rework and soldering on through-hole and surface mount components.
• Interpret schematics and assembly drawings to support inspection and rework tasks; assist in production testing and record results.
• Maintain ESD-safe work areas and follow cleanroom procedures; support calibration and maintenance of quality lab equipment.
• Document defects and assist in data collection for analysis.

The Electronics Quality Technician-I reports into our Manufacturing Leadership. The successful individual in this role will support StreamCaster™ MANET product development and manufacturing.

This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday. The location for this role will be at our Salt Lake City facility.

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

Role And Responsibilities

• Perform visual and functional inspection of PCB assemblies under magnification per IPC-J-STD 001 standards.

• Assist in production testing and record results accurately.

• Support calibration and maintenance of quality lab equipment.
• Document defects and assist in quality data collection for analysis.
• Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly; OR an Associate’s degree in Electronics with no prior experience required.
• Proficiency in the use of soldering equipment such as hand irons, bottom burners, and hot air stations.
• Familiar with the use of multi-meters and basic hand tools.
• Comfortable reading wiring diagrams or simple circuit drawings.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• IPC-J-STD 001 certification or equivalent training.
• Basic understanding of RF and digital electronics.
• Familiarity with Linux or Windows-based test systems.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability in fast-paced environments.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Office environment.
• Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
• Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
• Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
• Walking/Moving in the labs.

COMPENSATION: $30 - $32 / hourly
