Job summary

Pro-Active Engineering, LLC in Burnsville, MN is seeking a detail‑oriented AT QA Inspector to perform first article, in‑process and final inspections on electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC‑A‑610. You will measure parts with precision instruments, sort defective components, and ensure printed circuit boards meet dimensional and visual standards.

The role requires supporting data collection, generating quality reports for process control, and enforcing ISO 9001 / AS 9100 / QMS procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic assembly and previous inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate good communication skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS 9100 and 6 Sigma methodologies is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows based PC’s, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP software preferred.
• IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 Certification preferred.
• Completion of a Visual Acuity Test and Color Blindness according to the Visual Acuity Testing Policy.

Responsibilities

• Follow the production schedule assigned to enable a smooth and high quality workflow in production.
• Inspect electronic assemblies (first article, in-process and final) to print and in accordance with IPC-610.
• Measure parts to verify accuracy of dimensions, using precision measuring instruments.
• Sort defective components and parts for salvage or scrap.
• Inspect parts, using microscope or magnifier. Operate Automated Optical Inspection machine, identify failures and record any discrepancies.
• Recommends changes when necessary to AOI programmer in order to keep PCB models current. Operate X-ray machine, video inspection, and other forms of equipment needed to verify product compliance to standards.
• Assist with the collection of data and the generation of quality reports to be used for process control and monitoring.
• Maintain and enforce established ISO 9001 / AS 9100 / QMS procedures and documentation. Cross-trained to support incoming inspection when needed. This includes inspection of PCB’s, chemicals, components, and other materials that meet one of the following: IPC-A-600, customer specifications, SDS, datasheets or supplied specifications.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
