Job summary

  • Glue, clamp, press, screw, or solder parts together.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and run machines such as arbor presses, punch presses, mold machines, or riveting machines.
  • Report issues that would compromise product quality, or damage to tools or machinery.

Description

The Electronics Production Operator performs assembly operations to mass-produce products: relays, thermostats, actuators, and other heating and cooling control devices.

  • Set up the assembly line/workstation and stock parts for the product to assemble.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, or General Education Development (GED) certificate, or less than High school education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Individuals should have a basic understanding of computer operation to update product information.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and part prints.
  • Ability to enter production information in computer (Epicor software).
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one discussions with supervisor and co-workers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract multi-digit numbers.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues in a concise, understandable, and interesting way.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • The ability to use small hand tools and power screw guns.
  • The ability to use soldering tools, with training.
