Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to join the Machine Shop in the Facilities Department. The candidate must have general industrial electrical knowledge and be able to support OSHA regulations, NEC NFPA 70E, and company safety practices.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing servo and PLC control systems, reading electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints, and coordinating with outside contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in industrial/electrical field including troubleshooting and repair of all control systems.
• 5+ years of experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.
• Trade or Technical Degree Program Certificate is desired.

Overview

Electric Boat is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to work in the Machine Shop for Facilities Department. Applicant must have general industrial electrical knowledge. Applicant must also be able to support the below requirements while adhering to all OSHA regulations, company electricalsafety training practices and guidelines, NEC codes including NFPA 70E:

• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo control system, and PLC type systems.
• Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge of components relative to automation
• Must be able to read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints
• Must be capable of minor installation of temporary wiring system.
• Must be able to work with outside contractors and machinery equipment vendors
• Must be available to support weekend work and emergency situations

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in industrial and commercial electrical field including troubleshooting and repairing all types of control systems
• 5+ years of experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.
