Job summary

GOTAFE in Simsbury, CT invites motivated undergraduate engineers to join our Electronics Operations internship program. You will work on real manufacturing projects, supporting product engineering, lean initiatives, and new product development during the summer.

You will gain hands-on experience with CAD, standard work, SPC, and shop-floor problem solving, while collaborating with engineers and operators. This paid internship offers exposure to leadership, technical training, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing an engineering degree.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Preferred CAD experience and hands-on manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of product engineering within Electronics Operations, including continuous improvement and new product development
• Develop Standard Work packages and assist in lean cell conversion and SPC implementation
• Design manufacturing cells
• Assist in solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures, and implementing corrective actions
• Implement Lean methodologies such as standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation, and process improvements
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors
