Job summary

Oppermann Webbing in Piedmont, SC is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on all production machinery, with occasional general maintenance duties. You should have a high school diploma and at least two years in industrial electrical maintenance, plus PLC experience.

Job description

Summary: Primary function is to Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on all production machinery. Will also be required to assist general maintenance on occasion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, and wiring.
• Inspect and repair production and support equipment.
• Assists in equipment modifications.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for the purpose of rebuilding.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical testing devices.
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical components, machinery, or equipment.
• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, or power tools.
• Diagnose electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Plan and lay out repair work, using drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals or schematic diagrams.
• Perform general cleaning duties of buildings and properties.
• Work with Vendors when needed to acquire parts.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, or other measuring instruments.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience required (has to be industrial, cannot be residential).
• Experience in Troubleshooting and PLC programming required. Prior experience providing support for facilities, buildings, and equipment maintenance.
• Must be able to read blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to satisfactorily Pass Oppermann forklift Certification.
• Must regularly lift up to 50lbs unassisted and move up to 500lbs with mechanical assistance. Must be able to adapt to temperature changes. Close, distance, color and peripheral vision required.
