Creare in Hanover, NH seeks an Electronics Engineering Technician with hands-on PCB design experience to join our R&D team. Collaborate with engineers to develop hardware prototypes and support design, procurement, and testing of custom electronics for biomedical, energy, and space applications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Work closely with R&D project team members to develop hardware prototypes from the ground up. As an Engineering R&D consulting company, Creare has a broad spectrum of challenging projects to develop cutting-edge electronic devices and equipment for biomedical, energy, advanced battery, high-voltage, military, and space applications.

We're looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Electronics Engineering Technician with a strong background in PCB design and layout to join our R&D team. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers and other technicians to support the design, procurement, and testing of custom electronics for R&D and production applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and layout of printed circuit boards using industry-standard tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar)
• Support schematic capture and component selection in collaboration with engineers
• Prepare documentation packages for fabrication and assembly, including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot PCBs, wiring harnesses, and prototype systems
• Rework and modify PCBs, including soldering surface-mount and through-hole components
• Maintain accurate records of design revisions, build notes, and test results
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements

Professional Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field
• 2+ years of experience with PCB design, layout, and documentation
• Proficiency with at least one PCB CAD software tool (Altium or OrCAD Preferred)
• Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, circuit design, and signal-integrity principles
• Skilled in soldering and rework, including fine-pitch surface-mount components
• Comfortable working from schematics, drawings, and verbal instructions
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
