The Davis Companies is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician to support development activities for electronic and electro-mechanical systems. You will assist with design, testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, modification, and assembly of prototype hardware and specialized test equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Engineering Support | Electronics Testing | Component-Level Troubleshooting

Pay Rate- $30 Per Hour

Schedule: 6:00am to 3:30pm

Position Summary

We are seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician to support development engineering activities involving electronic and electro-mechanical systems. This position assists with the design, testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, modification, and assembly of prototype hardware, development systems, and specialized test equipment. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in electronics theory, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience using electronic test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineering development activities including design verification, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Build and troubleshoot prototype hardware and development systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and written work instructions.
  • Perform operational testing and fault isolation to verify conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic assemblies and systems at the component level.
  • Conduct defined engineering tests and accurately collect, document, and report test data.
  • Use diagnostic and development equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVM), volt-ohm meters (VOM), signal generators, and related instruments.
  • Support environmental testing and routine developmental engineering assignments.
  • Complete material requests, maintain accurate work records, and enter required documentation into computer systems.
  • Follow quality standards, safety requirements, and established work procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members.
Required Qualifications
Education

One of the following is required:

  • Associate Degree in Electronics.
  • Certificate or technical training in electronics, with a transcript demonstrating completion of required electronics theory coursework.
  • Military training in electronics theory and repair, with supporting documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and perform component-level repairs on electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, DVMs, VOMs, signal generators, and similar electronic test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, data entry, and recordkeeping.
  • Demonstrated reliability, communication skills, and professional work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with soldering and electronic assembly.
  • Experience supporting engineering development, prototype builds, or test activities.
  • Exposure to electro-mechanical systems and environmental testing.
Required Training

Training may be required within the first year of employment, including:

  • Safety training as directed by the Safety Department.
  • Soldering training or certification.

This position typically supports engineering development, test equipment, product design, prototype fabrication, and related technical activities in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
